This Isn't What it Looks Like!
So I know that a very common interpretation of early Batman and Robin comics (i.e. Batman; Detective Comics) is that Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson (Batman and Robin) are homosexual. I had heard of this, but never really thought of it until I was looking through some old Batman comics and stumbled upon these three panels. Upon reading, I learned that Robin was celebrating his 8th birthday. Kind of young to fight crime, but that is beside the point. I have researched the topic of homosexuality in early Batman comics, and discovered that there is a book on the subject. Not gonna read it. I just wanted to explain that for some reason, people have interpreted Batman and Robin's relationship as a sexual one. I have seen other images of them sleeping in the same bed. People have to know that this was long ago, when superhero comics were new, not to mention superhero partnerships, and the writers of Batman portrayed them as good friends, as well as a father and son relationship. This issue here is what a father might do to a son (minus the whole "buy you a plane" thing). So stop freaking out, 'cause Batman today is nothing like that, not to mention frikkin' awesome.
