Why the New 52 Appeals to ME

So if you read comics at all, chances are you have heard of the New 52. If not, here is a little recap. So, evidently, comics have not been selling very well these days. (even though you have me, DC and Marvel, who buys, like, 90 comics a month) So, they decided that they would make some money (and hopefully a few good stories) if they rebooted the entire DC Universe, and every super hero, villain, heroin, vigilante, anti-hero (you get the idea) had just started their career and the whole thing is how everyone hates (or doesn't understand) superheroes. And they are making big bucks! (If Marvel did this, it would be stupid, 'cause the make roughly 60% of the comics profit) Well, first thing first, I have always loved Marvel. Loved the characters, writers, artists, stories, movies, the whole thing. I always said to myself if I EVER find a DC Comic written by Jim Lee (my favorite artist), I will read it. Well, that's how I started reading the DC Comics New 52 Justice League. Best decision ever. I usually read it then stare at the art.

A page from Justice League #1. Talented, huh? Art by Jim Lee

The colors are fun in the books, but I hated the art in Action Comics #1. (no offence Rags, but Supes looks kinda..... suspicious.) Did like the writing though. Just don't bring in your whole "creepy narrative thing" Grant. Justice League #1 was my first DC Comic, and definitely not my last. This changed my view of the whole company and now I'm addicted to Batman. Currently I have only decided to follow Justice League, and (im) patiently waiting for #4.

Until next time!
